Teaching Accountancy Firm (TAF)
Teaching Accountancy Firm (TAF) is collaboration between SALIHIN and universities aimed at providing a unique and advanced learning and training field for both accounting lecturers and students of universities.
It is a marriage between academia and the professional practice aimed at producing “thinking and enterprising accountants” relevant to industrial and national needs while positioning the universities as the premier learning centre of accountancy studies.
Why TAF?
It is born out of the need for industry-ready accountancy graduates. This initiative is in line with the transformation of Malaysian Higher Education system through National Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025 in the first shift which is to produce holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates.
“This is a first in the world because we believe that we should not measure students achievement through academic performance alone, but also how they interact and communicate their entrepreneurial and practical skills, and their values and ethics to ensure that they become holistic, as stipulated in the first shift in the National Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025.”
Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Former Minister of Higher Education
Presently, three are universities with SALIHIN for the TAF, the first being Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). Other subscribers of the TAF include Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
